I left a corporate career 5 years ago, moved to Austin, Texas and decided to follow my heart and complete a Master of Arts Degree in Holistic Wellness.  I wanted to follow my passion for holistic health and work with people to adopt mind-body approaches to health and healing.

I became a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach and launched Healthy Awakening Now, LLC to empower clients to make healthy lifestyle changes.  Although I enjoyed sharing my knowledge of holistic health with friends, family and clients, I felt something was missing.  I had a strong desire to utilize my Holistic Health education and training to help people who were dealing with life threatening illnesses.

I began volunteering at Dell Children’s Medical Center in the Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders Program.  During this time I witnessed firsthand the courage and bravery of young children and teens as they endured the nausea, pain and fatigue of their treatment programs.  As I observed these brave souls I became determined to find a way to make a difference in the life of pediatric cancer patients.

I researched a mind-body centered approach to supporting cancer patients in the healing journey and discovered that many hospitals include Guided Imagery in their Complementary and Integrative treatment programs.  It was during this time that I recalled the occasion when I created a Guided Imagery meditation specifically designed for an uncle who was in the hospital with congestive heart failure.  The benefits from the Guided Imagery meditation were profound, he made a remarkable recovery.  This experience touched me deeply and I am reminded that I can do the same for pediatric cancer patients.

Healthy Awakening Now, LLC is dedicated to the creation and production of specifically designed meditation/guided imagery recordings to assist children with cancer.  The healing power of the mind-body connection can create a real difference in the healing journey.  My commitment lies in empowering children and teens to develop the ability to use their imagination with intention and focus to create specific physiological changes in their mind.

Most children age four and older are candidates for guided imagery however I can assist family members in developing modified Guided Imagery methods to assist a young child in healing.  Ask me for details.
